Prof. Jonathan Segal is a UK trained Gastroenterologist with a specialist interest in Inflammatory Bowel Disease. He has undertaken my training in some of the best inflammatory bowel disease centers around the world including St Mark’s Hospital and internationally He is considered a leading expert in the ileoanal pouch a sub-specialty of Inflammatory Bowel Disease. He has been recently been appointed as a Consultant Gastroenterologist at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. He has completed his PhD and to date have over 100 PubMed indexed publications and have this year been awarded an Associate Professorship with the University of Melbourne.
His is one of the leading researchers on Faecal Transplants and has co-authored the guidelines on FMT.
His hobbies include long-distance running, table tennis and spending time with his wife and two children.
